The JACK BEAR HONEY Story:

In a not so distant dystopian future, the world is crawling with chemically infected cryptids.

Trudging across the desolate globe, they search for any fragment of sweetness and spice to pull them out of their zombie-like state and give them the energy to replicate the flavors that once dominated the grocery store shelves.

Deep in the overgrown woods of the Northeastern United States, a strange bond was forged out of necessity and survival.  A strong black bear, with the scars that tell his life story, and a wise queen bee, who’s hive is a reminder of her powerful presence, protect each other to outlast the cryptid horde attacks. JACK BEAR fights ferociously to protect the hive and their honey reserves, while Queen Bee supplies enough honey and wild hot peppers from her pollinator nation to keep JACK BEAR sharp and healthy.

The cryptids do not stay afar for long. Which leaves little recovery time for JACK BEAR and his Hive brethren. JACK BEAR’s senses heighten with the aromas of sugary decay sweeping through the land as the wind changes its direction. He readies himself. Tired but confident, he looks at his Queen and lets out a vicious snarl as he jabs his paw into an overflowing pit of honey. In one fell swoop, he pulls his paw out and swipes across the Habanero field collecting peppers at full charge. As he approached the horde’s frontline, he rams his honey and pepper soaked appendage in his mouth.

JACK BEAR, driven by the intense heat of the peppers and the sweet energy of the honey, becomes an unstoppable force. His senses are heightened, and his muscles pulse with rage as the imminent threat approaches.

Without fear, JACK BEAR is ready to show this plague what it is to deal with an enraged natural force. Each swing of his powerful paws sends waves of battered cryptids flying through the air. Those who land alive are considered lucky until they realize JACK BEAR is not done. In the heated battle the air fills with a vile dense stench and the horde of infected fall with little chance of survival. JACK BEAR ensures the hive remains safe and sound. Queen Bee watches in awe, as JACK BEAR defends their home with unmatched vigor and bravery, regardless of how many times she has bared witness to this before.

The natural honey and fiery peppers are the simple ingredients that conquer all.

Okay… so this is not the real story of JACK BEAR, but would be cool if it was.  I don’t know…JACK BEAR started when working as part of the machine, sitting at a computer all day made me want to rip my hair out and scream to the gods.  I needed a way to get connected back to the world without having to deal with all of it.

So I started splitting wood.  What could be more cathartic than that?  Working with my hands and drowning out all the anxious intrusive thoughts.  My brain started working differently.  I had to think through things and work it all out with good ol’  trial and error.

I started building axes from vintage heads and premium handles.  Again, no experience, just some research and mistakes.  I asked Dan to join me as I had a lot of firewood (too much) that we needed to sell it.  Needless to say he caught the bug as well. It was a nice break for him considering his long tenure as a NYPD officer and everything that goes along with that.

We would talk about how these simple processes along with simple foods always seemed to put the biggest smiles on our faces. Everything else is getting so complicated and over built.

So our vision is to bring the best ingredients, provided by nature, together with our left of center spin on life to try and deliver a taste for the simpler things in life.

JACK BEAR Honey is our first step toward world dominance… well not that serious.
